Opened in 2010 The Oitavos is located along the Lisbon Coast in Portugal in the most Western point between Estoril, Cascais and Sintra. The pretty coastal town of Cascais is located a short distance from The Oitavos and makes a pleasant walk along the coast. It features cobbled streets lined with squares, museums and numerous shops. The area is popular with tourists and locals alike and many head to the small beach in the centre of Cascais. It also features the harbour where guests can take boat rides to nearby attractions, including Lisbon. There are several other sandy beaches in the area, including Guincho Beach, famous for its surfing. Sintra, a town on the UNESCO World Heritage and Cascais, is in close proximity to the hotel and is a town and a municipality in the Grande Lisboa sub region of Portugal. The blue of the sea and sky combine with the yellows and greens of the wild flowers and trees, while contemporary sculpture and paintings by Portuguese artists provide an extra flavour. It was designed by celebrity Portuguese architect and artist José Amaral Anahory.
